Although I hate to admit it, it makes sense why there are so many re-makes. They're guaranteed to be well (or decently) received. They make money. Game developers have no idea how well a new game will do in the market. Any other ideas as to why there are so many game re-makes?

  • they could be an inspiration for breath of the wild to look back at what was good in past games.

  • While all of that is true, if you rely on them too much you risk alienating your fans. So they need a balance.

  • It gives people who missed out the first time around another chance to play them. Not to mention people who weren't alive during the days of the Gamecube but has a Wii U can have an opportunity to experience games like Wind Waker.

  • @Aiz BotW incorperates features from other games, but I think it will be pretty unique from what we've seen so far @Vlad Yeah, you definitely don't want to risk losing fans. Plus, there's only so many games you can re-make until you start re-making the re-makes. Imagine "Majora's Mask 3D HD" @Jeremy Yeah, I never had a gamecube and my Wii Mini doesn't have backwords combatability, so I'm glad.
