  • Wind Waker is my favourite. I do like the others too.

  • OoT3d included Master Quest and a boss rush while updating a game that had aged poorly. The controls are worlds better. Aside from cutting down the Triforce Shards, which I also wish they hadn't done, WWHD is basically perfect. Those two are a cut above the others for me. MM3d has so much greatness marred by abysmal handholding. TPHD was almost a complete waste of time, a consolation cash grab for

  • not giving us a legitimate new LoZ title in more than half a decade. Do I love playing them? Of course. Similarly, LBW and TFH are fantastic too. However, I really hope this direction for the property has run its course. No more rehashes please.

  • TPHD blended the best of both the GCN and Wii versions of TP. You had an upgrade in the graphics department and you were able to use a real controller to control Link.

  • Yeah, serious upgrade in the graphics department ... c'mon Kasuto. It's a remake of a game on a console that you can pop an original release date disc into and play. That's sad in my book. I actually came back to Justin's post to take the edge off my familiar rant, but your comment reaffirms my faith in my stance.

  • I'd have to go with WWHD. While I loved the added fishing holes in MM3D some of the changes felt unneeded. I was very disappointed on the Stone Mask's location being changed among other things.

  • I think I must be the only one who loved exploring the sea, salvaging up shards and treasures. Why would I want or expect a grant-any-wish power to be easy to get? Bah! I played Ocarina of Time 3D as my second Zelda game, and really can't pick between it and the N64 version. I like both versions of Majora's Mask the same, but I dislike the changed swimming controls, the Ice Arrow nerf, and

  • The new Bomber's Notebook. The original one was more intuitive for me.

  • Either OoT3d, or WWHD. TP HD was utterly pointless to someone who has played the original, and a certain amiibo related challenge adds a bit of insult. I adore MM, and the 3d version gets in on that, but, they just had to go and mess with the bosses. As said before, too much handholding. WWHD is a brilliant step forward, but OoT3d gets my vote for its Master Quest.

  • Although not many changes were given to it, I still like OoT3D because I finally got to try out Master Quest. That being said, some of the changes made to TPHD, a couple I find unnecesary, makes it my least favorite remake, though I will make another run through it to prepare my Wolf Link amiibo for BotW.

  • @Stagger, you are perfectly entitled your opinion on TP HD. The whole Master Quest was a joke in OoT 3D. I got the Master Quest for OoT by ordering Wind Waker through Nintendo directly. Personally I didn't like how they configured Ocarina controls in the 3D version, since I was used to controls from the original N64 version. How I got through GCN versions was I used the C-stick to play the songs.

  • The Boss Rush was really the biggest change to the game. They add the whole hint things and placed colored pipes to guide people through the Water Temple. I can't really comment on the MM 3D, since I haven't played the 3D version due to my strong dislike of the original game.

  • tough question... Although my favorite LoZ is OoT, because it was the first zelda I ever played (on 64), I'll probably go with TP. I especially like the use of the gamepad instead of the wiimote and the added amiibo functionality. Ofcourse MM and OoT also improved for the better. I never played the original WW so I can't really judge.

    Yeahs1
  • @Stagger,personally I liked be able to use an actual controller with TP HD. I play-through fine on my Wii version, but it did me bother to have Link being a right-handed versus him being the traditional southpaw. Other changes to the HD version was you got a bigger wallet. A new challenge to play. You could switch between Wolf Link and regular Link at press of a button instead of having to talk

  • to Midna every time. They added the Poe Lantern item, which made it easier to track down those elusive Poe Souls. I surprised you talk about how great having the Master Quest for OoT 3D when they added a Hero Mode for TP HD. Plus you can increase the difficulty further using a Ganondorf Amiibo.

    Yeahs3
  • Those are some fair points Kasuto, although frankly having a numerical maximum Poe Soul counter display on each section of the map was more of a positive than the Lantern to me. Had they made it overcome the lack of a Sun's Song type of function for hunting,I'd have a much higher opinion of the item. I enjoy trying to be efficient w/ the night time windows anyway, so it's not a huge complaint.

    Yeahs1
  • Major agreement on a touch button transformation, and we all know TP was poorly ported to the Wiimote, unlike SS, which was designed for it ... but all of this overlooks the major point. Do we really need all of these remakes rather than a devotion to original material? I get where you're coming from w/ MQ, but I happened to be too busy to game during the NGC years, so it was a big deal for me.

    Yeahs1
  • You're preaching to the choir w/ the Water Temple simplification, but compare that to the things Elzonire expertly pointed out concerning MM3d's handholding, and it doesn't seem so bad. That Bomber kid who would run up to Link and inform him of anything he was missing makes a Sheikah Stone look like a mystery generator.
