    You Started the demo talking to the Professor then you went to one of the towns in the game. you could explore but there was an Invisible wall blocking you from moving forward. After you were done exploring you could talk to Steven in the town and go to a route you would fight some evil grunts there and at the end of the Path You'd get a rare pokemon
