On wii u, whats your preffered way to play this game? Tv mode or off tv mode? and what do you think of the off tv mode? I like the image quality. I like the softness. But the colors dont do it much justice compared to tv. I also wished the speakers sounded louder!. But its still a pretty relaxing way to play!

  • I always play on the TV, but sometimes the exposure can be hard to look at. i'm getting used to the graphics though and it's starting to look more and more beautiful as i play

  • That's why mew bought Switch. Off TV on wiiu games was mostly great but colors were always kinda weak. Not as crisp either but still an enjoyable alternative. I'd likely play both TV & off if had it on wiiu tho.

I like off screen mode, but sometimes it makes the motion control sections difficult...

  • Well wiiu u gamepad wasn't hd so besides colors there's a noticeable but tolerable difference playing on that compared to TV. Switch screen is basically just as good as TV mode only smaller. No real downgrades this time. Tho I haven't played my Switch in TV mode yet so nevermind ^.^

  • I never play anything in "off TV mode." I've never seen the appeal of it unless it's a kid whose parents are using the TV for something else. I certainly don't understand people who choose it over the TV when both options are available.

  • I see where you're coming from, Kevin. And i can agree to some level. That said, its nice that the wii u does offer the options. Because sometimes a family member is using or wants to use the tv during your designated gaming time or when you really want to play. Also, I find that sometimes i just wanna play in bed and not in the living room. And the gamepad does offer that relaxing option.

  • in this zelda, i find that playing relaxed on off tv mode is pergect for menial tasks like cooking, or doing some shrines, where theres no story or boss involved where you just wanna kick back and relax, while tv mode is great for big story sequences or boss battles.

  • Maybe I'd like it more if I could play it in bed, but my Gamepad loses connection if I take it more than 10 feet away from the Wii U.

  • That depends on the structure of your house and the materials in the walls. Some walls make it harder for the signal to pass through. That said, the wii u isnt too big or heavy. So in a way you could and can treat it as a portable system, as long as theres an electric socket where you are going. And you could essentially game everywhere. Going to that starbucks in town? take the wii u with u.

  • going to visit you mom or your in laws, take it lol. you only need the gamepad. Theres people who carry big gaming laptops around. I guess wgat im trying to say is... unplug it and take it to your room when you wanna play in bed. no need to mess with hdmi cables or anything. Just the power cable.

  • My room's not set up that accessibly. The power outlet is behind the TV, and the Wii U is on a little table between the TV and a huge bookcase full of stuff. I'd have to move furniture around just to unplug it.

  • huh, i see. shame. i love moving it around when the signal doesnt get through. although it mostly does. Toilet Gaming with the gamepad is the best LOL

  • Haha...I tried that once with the DS. I didn't really care for it. My dad, though, used to keep his Gameboy in the bathroom just for that purpose.

  • I think the gamepad is the best, but I may be biased since I don't have an HDTV to play it on.
