Two tangentially related questions: A, is there something wrong with my wii u or does sound only come out of the gamepad? B, why is NOTHING ELSE on the gamepad!? What happened to the map/items being on the gamepad in TV mode? And C, why does it take half a minute to reload instead of just unpausing instantly when I resume from the home menu? ...OK, make that three not-really-related questions.

  • I figured it was to do with the Switch. Which is just unfair to the wii u version IMO. Much easier and smoother to just be able to glance down at the map anytime. And the only game audio I'm getting is out of the gamepad speakers, even though I'm on TV mode. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that or my wii u is having a problem.

  • ...Oh. I just figured out what the deal is. Apparently the sound switches over to exclusively coming from the gamepad if you have external speakers/headphones plugged into it. I'd say that was an interesting feature, but it's kind of... presumptuous?

  • So sound only comes from the Gamepad if it has headphones connected to it? Hmm, I wonder if it's that way with anything else...

  • Dunno, I don't think I've ever had speakers plugged into the gamepad during a game before. I only had them hooked up because I discovered the 'downloads' music actually... sounded really nice on real speakers. Then I left them hooked up when I started the game because I thought only the gamepad was emitting sound and I didn't want to have the only audio be from its weak speakers. D'oh
