I'm not happy about the fact the switch will have a paid online service. I personally won't be paying:/

What little interest I had in the Switch vanished the moment I heard about paying for online...sorry Nintendo,I'll be sticking with my New 3DS only for the next year.

Nintendo needs money to pay for the servers. They are finally giving use party chat and better multiplayer and people are complaining over a price? Xbox and playstation charge money and nobody cares.

Guys don't worry. The paid online goes for $25-30 for the whole year. That's like less than your Starbucks coffe for each month.

@Andrew TBH, sony and microsoft multiplayer is more professional than Ninteno's. Lets face it, Nintendo isnt into hard core gaming like the others. That's why they charge money for online gaming.

@Link: It's also cheaper than what Sony and MS charge for their online services.

You know that Nintendo's version of party chat is downloading an app on your phone to talk with people right?

Something on the side to is that they'll start adding online multiplayer to some of their Virtual Console catalog such as Super Mario Kart. Not only will they be fun playing with friends, or just you, but they'll fun to play online with others. Definitely will breath new life to classic games.

Yes i'm super excited for splatoon 2 but again i dont see the point of paying, when you pay for the console, games and pay for broad-band connection.

I hear ya Daena. We all got opinions and we are all entitled to them. Honestly I wish it was free along with so many other things. Try to look on the bright side, maybe with the few dollars we're forking over they'll be able to add so much more things to make our online experience more fun. It's just my opinion and I hope you and everyone else has a nice day.

i think it funny when sony and microsoft started it people said the same thing from what i know yet they paid for it any way. even so the price for nintendo service is not that much. so really don't see the big fuss is about for online subscription. though let me know if i'm wrong

I'm not a Sony or Microsoft customer I always stuck with Nintendo, tbh I didn't even know that paying to play online was a thing, and Nintendo NEVER had a pay to play service in the first place to why are they asking for it now?.
