I think I figured out why Sonic's head looks like this, when sonic flips, his head changes with extended spikes, so when sonic jumps into a vehicle, his head model can't load properly, thus leaving us with this angery faced sonic, although to me it kind of looks like how sonic looked in Sonic 06
