    you get it from professor sycamore at the end of X and Y and you use it in the grass. If a patch of grass appears with golden sparkles, that's the shiny. if you run into a pokemon in the grass, kill it, and a different pokemon comes next, your chain has ended instantly. (hint: USE REPELS AND DO NOT USE YOUR SKATES OR BIKE, IT WILL RUIN YOUR CHAIN) p.s: if you continue the chain up to 40, you will.

    Ahhh... I seen that! I was watching top 5 epic shiny fails, or something. This guy was chaining when a shiny was below a normal one. He ended up getting the top one. I'm going to open up Y. Thanks!
