Ye Olde Sword of Erdrick

The next Downloadable Bonus Item, called "Ye Olde Sword of Erdrick" is now available for people to download. With it's 20 attack, it makes a great early-game weapon as it's available from the start of the game.

    I read online it called for an Ethereal Stone. If it doesn't that would be great because I don't want to waste the game's only Ethereal Stone on making the second best sword in the game. I think I'll start a new game tonight and play around with it at the beginning.

    It was Orichalcum for me, I don't think the ethereal stone works. Maybe they changed the recipe for people outside of Japan.

    It's like they're taunting me. Maybe I'll go finish the path of memories. I think you get a rematch with the Ruin boss in there and I think he might drop an orichalcum.

    It's only slightly stronger than the liquid metal sword and the spell on use isn't useful at this point. There are much better uses for the orichalcum and the liquid metal sword.

    Yeah, I agree that it's not the best use of Orichalcum, but some people trying to 100% the game want to complete every alchemy recipe. I figured that it would be helpful.

    You can download it in game. Under the "Misc." menu there's the option "Download Bonus Items" where you can get it. There have sometimes been issues of people having the game say there are no items available, and sadly the only fix is to delete your DQ8 extra data from the system settings... (Making you lose your photos and streetpass info for the game.)
