Calculus is literally Hell

You remember when I had the flu for a week? Yeah, you'd think I'd have time to make up all my work. THINK AGAIN. The 3rd 9 weeks is coming to a close this week, which means I have to get all of my missing work in or else there will be all kinds of 0's to bring my final grades down. I've been stressed out about that ever since I started going back to school.

  • Now it's just worse. Since this is the final week I have to get everything in, I'm really freaking out. I had a test today in calculus that I was NOT ready for. I had missed an entire week of teaching. I tried studying last night, but I just couldn't seem to cram all of the content into my head. It was too much material that I had to learn in too little time.

  • As the teacher started passing the tests out, I asked her if I could take my test later. She said that I was present all week last week and that I should've stayed after school on Wednesday if I was having trouble. Then she said she was "sorry" then handed me my test. I've been crying a little today

  • This teacher in particular intimidates me. She's very serious and she's very scary when she's angry. So a lot of the time, she sounds irritated and I'm afraid to ask her for any kind of help. I didn't even know she was staying after school last Wednesday. If I had, I would have stayed, believe me. Though I doubt it would've helped much with my overall understanding of the unit we were being taught

  • A week's worth of material isn't something I can learn in a snap. I'm kinda a slow learner, and calculus is nowhere NEAR being my easiest subject. Anyway, the 2nd part of the test is tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I've already failed. I currently have a C average in her class. As soon as that test grade goes in, I bet it'll go down to a D or F. There's no way I did good on that test. I need a miracle.

  • I’m not sure if it will help, but check your class syllabus to see if there’s some sort of extenuating circumstances clause that covers your illness. It definitely depends from school to school, but if you missed a week of classes, you should hopefully have some sort of leeway. If you emailed the teacher or school when you were ill, you’ll have even more reason to get a fair chance and make up

  • your test at a later date. Math definitely isn’t something that can be learned overnight, and I’m sorry your math teacher of all people doesn’t seem to understand that. I really hope all turns out well in the end and I’m sorry I can’t be of more help. Best of luck!

  • I'll be praying for you. Sorry I can't do more 😢. ps good luck
