WELL THIS GAME CERTAINLY KNOWS HOW TO BE TERRIFYING! Strange music starts to play, and wisps of black smoke appear, then the sky turns BLOOD RED and Zelda tells you that's Ganon reviving all the monsters you killed so far. Wouldn't be surprised if monsters are stronger during a blood moon too.
