    I try make it simple to you: at least every 256 steps you have some chance ( not 100%, 50%nearly) to have an egg, this is all normal to fail have it at the first time, after 500 steps you have 75% to have it, not 100, dont panic

    @Mei, Thank you so much!! You have no idea how much that helps! @LigitGamer, you leave a ditto with the Pokémon you want to breed, or leave two opposite gender pokémon of the same egg group, and when the daycare man looks away from the fence, go talk to him while you have an empty party space, then you walk/roller skate/bicycle around until your egg hatches.
