Nintendo Theory- Why Sony's Strength is also its Flaw

In the days of old, Sony's Playstation became the defining console of the generation, and with its success came business. Sony lured 3rd party devs from Nintendo to them with their generous deals, and Sony became the dominant company of the new generation. But maybe too much good is bad. In the comments, I explain how Playstation could crash.

Result After losing its most valuable allies, Sony couldn't follow up without risking more cash or their value. Sony would have to raise the white flag. "But Element!" You say. "Nintendo had the same thing happen to them and they didn't give up!" Well, yes, but they had something even more valuable than 3rd parties- It's own IPs. Nintendo has 35 years of history, and XBOX has Rare. Sony has none.

Aftermath- Sony would still live, but wouldn't be involved with anymore video games. The rest of the gaming world would be forever changed. Compare WWII to modern politics to a potential Playstation collapse to the gaming industry. Quality would be assured by both companies and new IPs would be introduced more often. It would change the face of gaming forever.

Final Thoughts I am not saying Playstation will collapse- in fact it's far from it. But Sony changed gaming, and if Playstation is dissolved, it'll change gaming again. Thank you for reading. Sony Basically Stole the Nintendo Playstation from Nintendo when Sony wanted Not only MORE Of an unreasonable share, but also overshadowing Brand Recognition(The Name Sony Plastered in about 4 places to Nintendo's 1). Nintendo was in the right on that front. They also were in a transitional phase at the time were they were in a position to produce True 3D experiences with the N64. →

The PS then became an incomplete shotty product born of Spite and Leverages, backed behind a Dark/Smear Marketing Campaign. untapped waves of apprehensive/casuals, it was a fluke waiting to happen. The propagation of these misinformed masses in a 'pre internet' era allowed them to succeed in what should have only been Mild levels of Success. *By that I mean, Polished/Refined Quality Original IP. There Exist Some 3rd Parties with that, yes, BUT they also create for other Systems(Including Nintendo at times) and PC. as Marketing Branding. They even 'Stole' the GameCUBEs Controler design. They later did it AGAIN with the 360, as the Code Name for the Wii at that time was the Revolution. POINT. outdoing themselves once more on that front with there Completely Ridiculous VR Set Up. If only Miiverse Allowed me to Post just how "Inappropriate" the Set up looks. They cater to the low hanging fruit, and I guess that's great if your a type of drone variant. But, that just 'poisons the pool' for the rest of us that have the ability to detect the different ranges of quality.

Last I Remembered, the only Reason MS got Rare, Was Because Nintendo Sold it to them. And there were 2 Justified Reasons why They Did. 1. Rare was Too Slow in Producing Games. Nintendo wanted games produced in a Timely Matter but Rare kept Telling them to wait because they wanted to 'polish' their games. Which Leads me to reason 2 and a Follow Up. →

2.Some time During or after Perfect Dark, Rare started Losing Key Devs Instrumental to Rares Synergy (This Maybe a reason why game Dev got Slow with Rare). At that point, Nintendo questioned and weighed leverages and decided to Cut Ties with Rare after Dinosaur Adventures. Interestingly enough, IIRC, They Payed Rare $22 Million to Keep Krystal, An IP who became tied to the Starfox Franchise. →

They already Owned DK, so they had no need to buy him back. I'll spare you the details involving the Melancholy of Krystal. They of course were NOT going to sell them Conker or Banjo Kazooie(Rares Mascots/Original IP), & Nintendo didn't have any interest in them anyway. is actually good or met their expectations, when in reality and as viewed by others Without Rose Tinted Sun Glasses, it's a sub par or at best sub decent game very much like a repeat of what was played decades ago. I don't quite understand why some people are clingy like that, but I too have theorys.
