    I've been getting them since the Year of Luigi, they come via SPOTpass. They only show up on special occasions though, so anyone can get them... if they have internet connection.

    I've gotten Dami Im, the person from Sun and Moon and the person from Hyrule. Where did you get all those gold Miis from?! Here in Australia, they're rarer than a shiny Pokémon!

    @Leah Hmm, that is odd, these miis practicly come every other month here in the US. So if I had to guess, you either don't connect to the internet often or there are less special distributions where you live.
