Ok, if anybody is wondering what the rewards for defeating Shovel Knight here is the answer. For Gunvolt you get the shovel ring, which gives you an air dash and double jump for no AP cost. For Copen you get the code of shovelry, and it changes the air bullet reload to a super-jump, once you reach the ground.

    They are each very nice power-ups but i like Copen's because you can cancel the super-jump with a bullet dash, and with more bullet slots you can easily fly through a stage, reload quickly, and continue very fast.
