    Also about fan games, it doesn't matter if they're not trying to make money. Nintendo doesn't need their games to compete with fan games. Nintendo wants you to play THEIR version. Why on earth would big N allow ppl to play a FREE SUPER MARIO and POKEMON on PC, when they're trying to get you to buy those games on Wii U & 3DS? Makes no sense.

    Honestly, as against censorship as I am, I'll even take the physical version of Fatal Frame 5 with(out) the censored costumes. I just want to play the freaking game at this point =(

    Also in terms of Nintendo acting so regressive in terms of their actions with youtube, publishers tend to go after certain let's players for them to advertise for their game. Nintendo is the only one I can think of that doesn't like this. For some reason? Doesn't make sense to me, but a lot of regressive actions don't make sense in the first place.

    But I'll agree, if the NX fails, I can totally see Nintendo going the way of Sega and dropping out of the hardware business. Cause if the fans need to keep doing what Nintendon't for another generation, then that'll be the last straw that'll break the gamers' backs.

    Nintendo will not go 3rd party if NX fails. They're a multi-billion dollar company, they can afford another "wii u" flop. Not to mention you guys are forgetting that they have their handhelds(which sell way more than their home consoles)to keep them afloat.

    Corey I liked Devils Third! I don't know why people hated on it so much personally. Olive what I don't get is why NOA even bothered publishing FF or DT in the States anyway. If they didn't believe in them for whatever reason then they should have just licensed the publishing rights for both of them to someone else. They definitely would have been handled better by another publisher thats for sure!

    I do agree that Nintendo won't go 3rd party if the NX fails. I personally think they will just leave the video game industry entirely. The hand held market will die eventually unfortunately. I like dedicated gaming handhelds myself, but I don't think the majority of consumers do anymore. I don't think Nintendo can survive on just them.     existence. They could easily re invent themselves in a different industry. That is what scares me the most. I don't want them to leave the video game industry. Wether consumers know it or not they need Nintendo around if the industry is to continue to grow. I don't believe Sony or Microsoft will do anything innovative without Nintendo. Which will cause the industry to stagnate.

    Justin? I'm sorry but Nintendo isn't leaving anytime soon regardless if NX fails or not. Games is their bread and butter. Yes NX failing will hurt them, but not to the point where it would make them leave. Also too many people still care about dedicated handhelds. Why do you think Nintendo's portables always sell waayyyy better than their consoles?

    It's not hard for Nintendos hand held units to out sell their consoles when their consoles only sell between 10 to 20 million (Wii U/Gamecube) units total. Even with their portables selling sold numbers, it still doesn't change the fact that smart phones and tablets by far out pace Nintendos hand helds. There are enough 3ds units sold to be worth 3rd parties time and effort, but they still don't develop for it.     If the NX is a portable/console hybrid then it shows that Nintendo is admitting that a dedicated gaming portable is a hard sell in todays world. But a console/portable hybrid is a much easier sell as it is closer to the nature on a tablet/smart phone.
