i remember on my first year of grade 7.when finals arrived i studied math for the whole day.no breaks because my dad is forcing me to do well.then around night my mom got mad at my dad and said she needs a break.her brain needs a break!and on the exam i failed because of this.its all my dad fault.he do that even last year.you know i will never pass math exam ok.i failed every time more in comments

    i know studying won't help anymore because i keep failing so studying is no use unless its the teacher was rushing through the topic!yes he was rushing and explaining it too fast so it was my teacher fault then but still my dad though.and the teacher. so glad i got i knew teacher this year,he is not rushing.i got the same math teacher for 3 years!

    I deeply sympathize with you. Drilling math problems to the point till you are drowning in them is completely unacceptable. Mathematics is like an art, it's foundations are simple and beautiful. And when this, sometimes you can make complex and elaborate things. Our current education model focuses its attention on grades and test scores. But why don't we focus on mastering skills which...

    Also, it is not that studying is ineffective for you, it is the way you are being taught that is full of flaws. I suspect that what you need is a better sense of understanding of relationships in mathematics.

    yes my last year teacher highly recommended since my foundation is weak.although this year is ok.i start at 7/12 then 8/12b then 10/12 then 11/12 but still is kinda hard.i just wished my brain can be good at math and science when doing math problems.

    yeah i just need to come up strategies in solving math problems which im really bad at it. oh i was in Ld class when i was in elementary which probably my mental illness issue and my very very very very poor math skills

    i tried to build my math foundation up but i don't know whats missing i have trouble memorizing 7,8,9 and12 times table.and sometimes maked mistakes in addition.which i did 2 times. i thought 20+20=80 and 20+1+1=24.

    I guess one last thing I would recommend is to look up mathematicians like Euclid, Sir Isaac Newton, Leonard Euler, Henri Poincare, Bernhard Riemann, David Hilbert, Hermann Weyl, etc. Basically their biographies. Oh, and perhaps recreational mathematics can help too.
