    Better than the last two games is a very, very low bar. But yeah, this game looks pretty good in its own right, which is refreshing for the sonic series.

    @M.Neko To be fair, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal was considered by most players (as opposed to most critics) to actually be a half-decent game. I've only been unfortunate enough to play Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, though. At least the patch (because yeah, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric got a patch *shrugs*) seems to have fixed SOME of the issues, which at least makes it remotely playable...

    ...but remotely playable doesn't stop it from mostly being dull... ESPECIALLY the combat mechanics. Which is about 75% of the game from what I've played of it. Admittedly, lack of speed aside, the basic platforming mechanics at least do their job and are actually half-decent, but platforming-only segments are few, far between, and shouldn't HAVE to be more interesting than combat...

    ...because shouldn't the two things be, ya know, done at the same time, maybe? Enemies by themselves are usually not interesting without interesting room layouts, and interesting rooms layouts tend to need more than just ground to keep things from getting dull (though stage gimmicks like crushers can get the job done as well in some games). Anyways, I should probably stop ranting...

    ...about why Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is awful, and instead should be glad that most people seem to like Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice. ...Only to then get disappointed in a different way than the way Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric was disappointing when I realize that I likely don't have the money to get it any time soon. XD
