Should Nintendo try and compete with Sony & Microsoft with the NX, or should Nintendo go their own way again like they did with the Wii & Wii U?

Their own way, we've heard enough about the NX already to know that it's not going to be the same as Sony's or Microsoft's stuff

@Cole, i agree with you but i do think the NX should be as powerful as an XB1 so that they get some third party support. If Nintendo can achieve this, the NX will be unstoppable!!

I'm fine with innovation as long as it's not just another gimmick and is practical and adds to the experience. Me personally, I don't care about ultra fancy graphics for Nintendo consoles(I have a PC for that), but the NX should at least be as powerful as the competition or else 3rd parties will leave like before.

Well we know it's a console/handheld hybrid, so it all depends on that. @Sylvia: While I understand what you mean by gimmick, but the things Nintendo has done with their systems to be fun for the games that use them. Whereas Sony and Microsoft copied ideas from Nintendo and ended up making gimmicky stuff. Like the Kinect.

I want a controller that can be used for regular games, as well as new possibilities (Like the Wii U gamepad. All the buttons of an Xbox controller, plus a touch screen). However, the NX does need to have more competent specs. I feel like 99% of games don't even bother on a Wii U port, but are on every console. If the NX has good specs and support from all major engines, it'll have way more games.

The thing about the NX is that since it will have removable side controllers, it might have many different attachable and detachable controllers. Plus it will be able to connect to the TV and it might use cartridges. So as far as gimmicks, i think they are reasonable!

It will have Amiibo support of course. Which I hope gets more pull.

But about power, i agree with Dark Alien, the NX must have better specs if they want that 3rd party support. I mean that was the main reason the Wii U was a failure in sales, i believe!!

the most worried thing for me is the power, if its as powerful as a xb1-ps4 then we dont have to worry about getting 3rd party support. if not however then nintendo is in trouble getting 3rd partys games.

id be happy with a hybrid handheld/home console. i really hope all these internet rumours are a clever strategy by nintendo, some real some fake miss guided clues, and when they finally unveil the nx its gonna be this powerhouse beast on par or better than the competition.

The 'Nintendo Overlords' do not compete with anyone...they are always in charge!!!!

Compete with Sony and Microsoft. As of right now, people buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games and nothing more. Nintendo will not survive if there are no third-party games on their consoles. Nintendo needs to make a powerful system so that third-party developers are willing to develop games for their console.
