    At least I can remember this one well enough. Her original form is that plesiosaur-looking thing (which I don't think I've ever came up with a species name for). After saving the life of one of the caravan group from drowning, they thank her and realize she can't speak but can still understand what they're saying.

    So every so often they pay her a visit at the same lake where they first met, bringing her food and sharing some stories which she had shown an interest in. When it was almost time for the group to move on to the next area, they revisited the lake to say their goodbyes but couldn't find her anywhere. They didn't want to disappear on her without saying anything but they were also on a schedule.

    One by one, they left the lake to go get ready, until the one that remained waiting was the one that had their life saved. Eventually, a young human girl emerged from the lake, calling out the name of the one still waiting. That girl revealed herself to be the very creature of the lake and was finally able to properly introduce herself: Lolulu.

    The reason she was so late was because of how much she was begging her parents to allow her to leave and walk on land. Normally she would have to be older before she's allowed to change her form and leave home, and only for a special reason. What she didn't mention was that she was princess of a royal family and was supposed to be forbidden to leave entirely.

    Whether it took enough begging and pleading to convince her parents, a deal was made with them, she snuck out herself or had someone close give her a hand is uncertain to me. But in the end, she made it out and left her home and family to join the caravan. While mainly in a humanoid form, she can transform back at will when necessary.

    The youngest of the group, but proves herself to have a sharp mind and tries not to let her youth and ignorance hold the group back. Her instrument becomes the harp but she's also able to sing very well. Uses water magic and is the healer of the group using both magic and medicine. I know her original form is probably closer to a mammal or reptile, but I still call her a fish as a joke.

    One day I had the sudden urge to have a monster like a pleiosaur join the group, and there wasn't a healer or water user in the group at the time, so I was able to quickly and suddenly work her in. It's a short, simple, and sweet story, which might be how I'm able to still remember it so well. If I ever create a group again, I want each to have stories like that for why they join.
