the toughest thing about the Avalanche Abaasy fight in Xenoblade is that due to how Night Vision gems work you're on a time limit to defeat it same goes for the other superbosses other than Marcus (who you don't need night vision for unless you're level 94 or below) but Abaasy is the most resilient

@Revenge319 idk I don't think I ever fought any of them, I got my debuff resist gems (only enough for Fiora) through other means I'm pretty sure since they're at level 98 it'd of course be advisable to get to at least level 93 first but you can try it now if you'd like (apparently they can inflict Topple and Instant Death so Topple Resist/Divine Protect gems are good)

Is there any way to improve accuracy besides using Night Vision Gems?

Night Vision is the only gem that allows you to improve accuracy directly, and I think Serene Heart is the only Art that allows you to do so (not sure about skills) you can of course raise it using Agility Up as well but that'll be less effective when you're fighting high-level enemies

What team should I use? (I don't have Seven yet because I started a new NG+ recently and haven't reached Fallen Arm, but if I need her then I'll wait until I get her)

if you're still talking about the Deinos Sauros, here's a comment I found on its Xenoblade Wiki page that might be helpful: "I just defeated this beast in what may be the most shameful way possible. Here's what you need: 1 - Makna Forest access 2 - Melia with Hypnotise and a DOT attack (Poison is best) 3 - Quick Step gems (enough to max out the stat) 4 - At least one ally [cont]

[cont] (doesn't matter who) 5 - A lot of patience and zero pride (optional) Process: Between Precipice Bridge and Decayed Forest, northeast of the Ether deposit, there is a large boulder. (Personally I think it looks like a headless cat) Lure the monster to that position and continue to run away using the headless cat boulder as a shield. Use Hypnotise (doesn't always work, but wait [cont]

[cont] until it does), then release your DOT elemental. Have your allies stick close to you so if anything goes wrong they can revive you quickly). After a ridiculously long time, you will win. It can be done at any level once you have that list, but there is less room for error the weaker you are.

that said 86 might be a high enough level to make that not necessary, I'm not sure; either way, if you don't want to do that, I'd recommend Dunban for Serene Heart are Monado Arts carried over in NG+? if so, I'd also recommend Shulk since Monado Armour is also very useful for fighting up-level

So it's like that Unique Monster exploit you can do in the Nopon Sage's final sidequest? Sounds good to me. Also, this is unrelated, but can we all agree that Chief Dunga sounds hilarious when he says, "It was prophecized many years ago"?

yes that line is pretty funny on its own considering what his voice sounds like but it not being true whatsoever (assuming I'm remembering the context correctly) makes it even better

I barely did any sidequests on any of my runs of Xenoblade, so I don't have Monado Armour or Monado Eater.

aww man well definitely get it on this playthrough, you only need to do a few Fallen Arm sidequests to be able to get it and it's practically a necessity for fighting enemies much higher-leveled than you

The way his voice changes is the best part. How exactly do we know he's lying? I was never sure whether Dunga was lying or not.

Well wasn't that his reasoning for having Riki join Shulk's party? If it was, he's pretty clearly lying because it's established that the only reason Riki is a Heropon in the first place (well, until he completes the last Nopon Sage sidequest, anyway) is because the village wanted to get rid of him. I may have to re-watch that cutscene so I remember the context better though

Dunga did make up the prophecy, because whilst Riki fought the Dinobeast, his littlepon ate even more food which put Riki's family at a new debt. So, Chief Dunga had Riki continue his legacy in order to forgive the new debt that his children made. "Dadapon need food!"
