  • Maya. One of the attackers I mentioned earlier and mother of the boy. Always had a very nasty temper that put her in a berserker state when in trouble, but being under control had her able to enter that state on command. Her weapons could also split from a single blade into three prongs, which tends to happen when berserking.

  • There's a thing called GHOST involved. I can't remember things with certainty about it, but I can try and share what comes to my head about it. I remember having a lot of ideas on it, and that might be the reason why I'm having trouble remembering.

  • GHOST may have been a sort of virus with a mind of its own, or there was someone that was controlling it. I know it had a form of mind control/corruption on others and maybe could bring the dead back to life to serve as a brainwashed minion. There could be levels to how severe it is, which allows it to affect people in different ways.

  • As for the name itself, I can think of plenty of reasons. It might have been believed to be impossible to exterminate, invulnerable and untouchable like it was a "ghost". It was an undetectable force, so you wouldn't realize if you were being infected. It was invisible and silent. Those afflicted no longer acted the same, similar in the sense of a "zombie".

  • From where it came from, it may have been an object the group got their hands on and two people made contact with. I have a pretty strong memory on one of them being contained and put into stasis until a cure could be found, but the other got away - he might be doing it as a form of revenge on his own group, but manipulated into betraying them.

  • So the earliest attacker and one affected (who I'm now remembering is named Sol) was also affected by GHOST, but I can't remember to what extent. I can't remember his backstory as well either, but he was supposed to be a well-respected man who served as first mate on the Sentinel's ship.

  • I remember him using energy attacks that could take shape into different weapons or be fired in fast bursts. When comparing the two The captain/leader had bigger, stronger, slower dark energy blasts that were always spherical while Sol had smaller, weaker but faster light energy attacks that were more freeform.

  • That will about wrap it up for this world. I'll try and get one more character done, but she's proving to be the toughest one to redraw and I've been at it for over a week starting over and over. If I can't get it done by then, I'll try to force something out.

  • Light or dark weapon are always cool. I have a character called 'The Magician' who can copy any weapon into a dar temporary form. He's a lot like Ghirahim how his blades appear from nowhere, but I created him before Skyward Sword.

  • I noticed some of the main characters in this world used "dark" powers. I think even I was getting tired of "Heroes of Light" theme by that point that I felt like switching it up. Weaponmasters are pretty cool when you think about it. It takes a lot of skill to use so many weapons, so they can turn anything into a weapon in a pinch, and they can always use the right tool for the job.

  • Target too far away? Just use a bow or even a throwing dagger if necessary, weaponmaster can do it. Found a shiny new treasure of a weapon? Weaponmaster has plenty and doesn't need it, more for the rest of the group. Someone lost or broken their weapon? Weaponmaster has you covered. Of course, this is assuming they have a way to carry all their gear.

  • Yeah, but The Magician is evil and solo, so it doesn't really work out. But, the weaponmaster in your sense is pretty cool. Have you ever played Fire Emblem Fates? Theres a person like that called 'Master of Arms'

  • That statement about "tired of the heroes of light." I often see more tyranny in the light than dignity. Further, any one force can, in its own right, be righteous in a good story. (Hence my motive for liking Magic the Gathering so. ^~^) Speaking of which, are you at all familiar with MtG?

    Yeahs0
  • @Kaelanpuff I played it but that class is more for the Hoshido side and I chose Nohr. And for Revelations, I just turned everyone into maids and butlers. That was a fun run while it lasted, but I never got to reach the final chapter and ended up losing interest once I had recruited everyone.

  • @Uncle_V I could rant on and on about "light and dark" in fantasy. The whole "Light = good and right / Dark = evil and wrong" is way too simple and overplayed, for starters. I'm a bit familiar. I was more into Yu-Gi-Oh in highschool until the powercreep became too much and the gameplay's speed got weird.

  • Oh I was nuts about that too. Still kinda am, but more of a nostalgic sort of way now. (Ok, I'm still crushin' on Warrior Lady of the Wasteland. No judgin'. ^~^)
