Batman VR

the Playstation VR headset was released last week and Batman VR by rock steady was one of its launch games. although a short game it appears to offer replay and maybe one of the most popular games. the PS VR is sold out most places. apart from the resolution a tad low its getting good reviews. who buy a PS VR headset for a full Batman title?

GTA first person isn't hard to imagine as in the PS4 and Xbox1 remasterd ports of GTA you could change the option to play it in 1st person instead of 3rd person! next year we'll be able to see how well VR, the PS pro 2K, the Xbox1S and the Switch sell and how well they're supported.

The Switch is already loved for it's concept, but it depends if it's power influences the games that come to it. I haven't tried out gta first person yet, only ever had the PS3 version. I still think I'd prefer 3rd person for an open world game, for a bigger field of view.

with the re-released GTA5 on PS4/Xbox1 you can swap between 1st or 3rd person so u have the choice. the Switch is a good idea on paper, apart those tiny portable controls are made for baby hands! also as a home console i'm not sure it's gonna have enough power for 3rd party devs. it looks good as a portable device if a decent battery life, but as a portable system it'll cut into the 3DS market?

as nintendo have no real competition with hand helds it seems odd they'd go against themselves? ok it looks like Skyrim and 2k's NBA jam will get Switch ports but they're both pretty old games now. the wiiu also got some old ports like Darksiders, Batman and Mass effect but after that 3rd party support soon dropped apart from some indie devs. a lot of people lost faith with nintendo after the wiiu

i hope nintendo can win back its support, especially as most people got into console games due to nintendo with the NES and SNES, me being one of them. if they can get good 3rd party support, have a good amount of their own IP's in development, can market and advertise it well unlike the wiiu, then maybe it'll have a chance to be another wiiu. i'd not want nintendo's IP's end up on mobile phones.

So far I'm just slightly disappointed there seem to be a lot of WiiU ports going to Nintendo's other systems. Perhaps they're dissatisfied with the audience they've reached so far.

when u say other systems i'm guessing u r talking about the DS family as the 3DS/2DS/new 3DS are the only other consoles and all handhelds. yes i see games like Hyrule warriors ending up on the 3DS in the hope it sells to a wider audience, makes sense. i'm not rushing to buy the Switch after feeling slightly burnt with the wiiu, i'll just get Zelda BotW on the Wiiu but a delayed marketing move

to release it as a Switch launch title is annoying as we could already have it this holiday season on the wiiu. i get ubisoft delaying Star trek bridge crew VR to release the best possible game rather than rush it for the holidays. guess its new release date, March 14th! isn't that the same day as Zelda BotW & Switch? better start saving up £100 for March. RE7 biohazard January, expensive year!

Isn't every year an expensive year? ;) The thing is, BOTW is now being rumoured to NOT be a Switch launch title, instead releasing June 13th maybe? (from a screenshot I saw). I'm not sure how it could be true though, if the wiiu version was delayed specifically for this version.

as they said it'll be released simultaneously on wiiu and NX/switch it would be delayed wiiu until June which would be very annoying for those who've been waiting for a new Zelda game on wii not just old ports like wind waker and twilight. kinda sucks if true? where did u see that switch release date?

i just read some stuff on the web and it seems it may well be true and Zelda BotW will get a summer release now. that's what happens i guess when u start developing a game on 1 system and then told u need to get it on 2 different systems. if they'd stuck to wiiu they could've sold a few wiiu zelda bundles for the holidays and focused on a switch port after. not having it on switch at launch will

will have an impact on launch sales. who's gonna buy a switch at launch to play maybe Mario and Skrim at full price, probably carts will cost £50, Skyrim remasterd as reduced to £24.99 on PS4 now. i don't think nintendo know what to do after their door stop wiiu and putting all their eggs in one basket with a hybrid console.

Frishkii you said shame it's delayed, THEN hope it's a rumour? :p Well they might have initially said they will release simultaeneously, but that might have since changed, due to testing of the game for bugs? I heard it in an IGN video. But if they did release separately, then that would defeat the point of delaying the game in the first place.

I'm assuming that the WiiU won't sell very well this Christmas, especially as PS4 Pro, vr, Xbox One S and such being the main points of interest in gaming right now. I agree, some Zelda bundles may have helped, but does Zelda really have much of an appeal outside of Nintendo? The 3DS could do well though, if a swarm of Pokemon Go players want to gain a more 'full' experience. ;)

it is pretty much true if they're sticking to the simulation release on both wiiu/switch. then no wiiu version now until the summer even if it's been ready for release on wiiu for a while now, the switch port is gonna take more time, and if they were to release it on wiiu b4 the switch it might hurt sales for the switch version. they've stop production of the wiiu now and old stock is being sold

now for £140 nearly half the original launch price for the basic 8gb model. a Zelda BotW bundle could've been sold for the holidays at around £200, or a Zelda + splatoon bundle for £240 and helped to get rid of old stock. that's what i'd i've done if in nintendo marketing even if it meant losing a few zelda BotW sales on the switch.

I don't understand how it could hurt sales to a large degree if people are aware of the Switch especially as the wiiu install base isn't that large anyway. Many WiiU games are being ported to the Switch or 3DS anyway. Lego City UnderCover being the latest port announcement. I think Xenoblade X may even come to Switch, so perhaps Nintendo aren't satisfied with sales for their 1st party games anyway

true they've probably struggled selling their IP's on wiiu due to it's small sales market. anyway thanks for feedback guys and interesting points. however i think this post has gone of topic as not related to Batman VR anymore, so think it's time to close it. for mii VR even if only in it's 1st gen is an exciting time and a new way to play games. i'll see how the switch is doing after a year or 2
