  • NEW Nintendo 3DS hasn't been out that long guys and im sure nobody will be abandoned anytime soon. Im guessing Nintendo will be happy to keep the 3DS/SWITCH experience separate. Makes financial sense anyway. As for servers closing, it depends on a companys finances i suppose, Monster Hunter Tri for wii servers were still up last time i checked, the game came out in 2010

  • @Stephen- In a way they're not really abandoning 60 million 3DS owners if they have pledged to still support it, well we know of support into 2017 at least.

  • Just been reading through, i agree about motion controls for FPS, getting head shots in a panic was always difficult for me whilst using analog sticks, but yes, motion controls solved that problem.. as long as you placed the wiimote REALLY tight on your knee!! Headshots (almost.. cough) everytime!!

  • OH NO! Are we talking about a motion control + controller add on now?, as well as the D-pad PRO? But seriously it would be a shame to see the classic Wii remote go.

  • I don't think online functions for Wii U would be terminated so quickly, The Wii services where shut down because Nintendo outsourced the connect 24 service, it's because the company went bnkrupt that Wii services abrubtly closed, but you can still surf the web on Wii and view netflix and Amazon video. Nintendo's network is more streamlined , there's no reason to close servers which need little -

  • --attention other then a occasional maitenance . Miiverse will be instrumental in combining the communities of Wii U ,3DS and Switch , that way owners of the older consoles will be able to see whats going on in the Switch communities , it''s basically serving as a huge advert for them to sell Wii U and 3DS owners a SWITCH .. I think the only forthcoming closure is that of BBC iplayer ' but i -

  • - reckon that's down to the new licensing laws for viewers on the internet, bet they want a payment from Ninty. personally i don't care for it so when it's gone i wont care. As long as the few online games servers remain, Amazon instants ,netflix and crunchyroll then i'm happy. the browsers bulit in so internet is no problem. The only ones that might go are Wii Sports club U (does anyone play )-

Also just dance has just come out , it's another Wii U ubisoft game with online features , so where actually getting new servers. Also we have to realise that there's still a good deal of indie games to come , yes some

  • may SWITCH , but games that have been in development for some time will come to Wii U still. i believe this is the area Nintendo will keep surport for Wii U till of course all the relative indies are released on the system. Plus Wii U are still in stores worldwide , it could take a fair while to sell thru those systems ,of interest Europe sales of Wii U was boosted wk/e 1st October for some reason

  • my gripe with Ninty is the blatent lies Kimishima has stated , '' we must surport the wiiu install base and make sure they have gamrs to play'' where his words , when will they learn to surport their install bases regardless of scope, Sega surported the DC for six years after cancellation in Japan , about two in the West. • It could be argued that the Wii was aimed at the causal market and that Nintendo falsely believed this would continue over to the Wii U, which as we all know it didnt...having said that the funny thing is the Wii had far better support for the hardcore, with exclusive wii shop releases like 'Gradius Rebirth' etc. Ahh i remember the nights counting down the seconds till midnights latest -

I dont see any of these on the E-shop..i mean where on flat earth is Chrono Trigger for example?? Now THIS is something i hope changes for Switch. Cant see it though, unfortunately :(

  • @Sertes- Kimishima might not be sticking to his word, but he also did stress the importance of having a good number of games at the Switch's launch a while ago, which is why they put a March release on it. I still believe it was supposed to release this year, well I wouldn't want to miss holiday season, but considering Switch is more a wiiu replacement than 3DS you can understand their actions.

  • Dont forget though Nintendo do like to release their new systems after the holiday period, as not to not clash with sony and microsoft. Plus people start to acuminate some moneys by march onwards.
