Can I save my game progress...

...When I change my SD card? I've heard that u can redownload the games, but I don't want 2 have 2 replay Shovel Knight and Plague Knight again if I can help it. So, can u save your game data when u switch cards?

  • I'm assuming your changing the SD card in a 3DS? If so, most 3DS games save to the cartridge, if a game does save to the SD card you can always save the data from an SD card to a computer then copy that data to the new SD card.

  • Yes, I am talking about a 3DS; I have the New 3DS XL. So, all my data and progress will be saved if I use a computer? 100%? I really don't want 2 take risks with it is all.

  • Thanx, by the way. I prefer 2 have all my games on the 3DS, and SSF4 took up a huge chunk of my free space. :P

  • No, I haven't. I will run out of space soon, but I don't know that there is a way 2 change it and be safe and sound in the end.

  • Don't transfer the data from the SD card to the computer but rather copy it. That way the data will still be on the SD card. Put the data from the computer onto the new SD card and put it into your 3DS and make sure the data is there and is working. If it doesn' work delete the data from the new SD card and recopy the data from the old one.

  • I'm not really a technology-nerd, but what Prsboys said makes sense to me. If something goes wrong with the transferring of the old data from ur computer to the new SD card, then u would still have the original data on the old SD card.

  • Can I do this and save the data from my Smash Bros? It's the only game I have a cartridge 4, and I think I remember reading that the process doesn't save data 4 cartridges.

  • Also, does Microsoft 10 work? Or does it have 2 b version 7-8?

  • All I know is that I don't want 2 buy physical cartridges. If u r a dedicated 3DS player like me, u might know why.

  • Smash Bros saves data to the cartridge so you can put it into any 3DS and have your save data.

  • Hmm. Well, thank u 4 that. I still don't want 2 try it unless I absolutely have 2, I am paranoid. :)
