    i dont think it would ruin sales, it would increase then from the amount of people like me who cant afford to buy a new system. and since i cant, i wont be able to buy any nx games which is reducing nintendos sales.

    It's called making two versions, like how they made a Gamecube version and a Wii version of Twilight Princess. They wanted a good game they knew people would want for a new system as a launch title.

    Because they needed launch titles, for the Gamecube Twilight Princess was it's last big game and a one of the Wii's first big games. It's going to be the same thing for the Wii U, with Breath of the Wild being it's last big game and a first new big game for the Switch. But after that, the Wii U isn't going to be getting much more.

    both original versions of twilight princess came out on the same day, one for GCN and one for Wii.
