    I believe good yokai are reborn as living beings they say that in the anime... I think it goes like good creatures become yokai, good yokai are reborn as creatures... So that might be hovernyan reborn? Not sure

    He could be disguising himself. As to why Jibanyan doesn't do it... Hovernyan has been a Yokai for a long time, so he may be able to do things Jibanyan doesn't know how to do.
