    no, I'm sure that one of the miis in a couple usually has a friend problem(when the orange figure with the orange thought bubble with a head inside pops up in his/her apartment window), they usually tell you that things aren't going so great with their relationship.

    You are given two options, Move on or Work it out. If you choose Move on, your miis will have a short conversation and break up. If you choose Work it out, the two miis will stand in a dark room and you hear ticking. The ticking goes slower and when the ticking stops, either the room lights up with the miis continuing their relationship or it doesn't, with the miis break up with a bell chiming.

    if you already encountered this relationship problem, then my second comment was useless. Besides, I've never seen a relationship breakup offscreen or out of the game when I'm not playing the game, so this may be a glitch.
