Smash 4 Port for Switch Unlikely

Why improve on Smash 4 when you can just make a new game? It's not perfect anyway. Plus, I doubt Sakurai wants to keep making stuff for Smash 4 and move on from it.

    It'll make money, it's easy to port over and it's easy to add the new content. If Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon are getting ported over we're most likely getting a Smash 4 port too.

    I think it's a logical choice. I think at minimum it will be an enhanced port of the Wii U version with content from the 3DS version availablr for the first time in HD. Perhaps the Ice Climbers will return too.

    Actually, Sakurai said that there would be a least likely chance that he would be involved within the development of another Smash game if there will ever be one.

    Sakurai wouldn't need to be involved in a port but he would most likely come back to be involved in smash 5 and there's no way he wants to do smash 5 less than a year after finishing smash 4 dlc.

    Its not like we can't get both you know. A Sm4sh port would do well at launch and then we would get a new game later on.

    Fuse the Wii u version with the 3ds version and and add two characters with updated graphics then it will sell like hot cakes.

    The only way a port will make money is if it has new characters, which I'm sure nobody on the development team wants to add any.

    Ports make money all the time. The last of us and uncharted remasters are some of the better selling games on the ps4. If the switch is more popular than the Wii u (which it most likely will be) it will make money because it's introducing the best version of the game to a new audience outside of the Wii u's small install base

    I'm probably the only one who doesn't want a port. If they do, fine, but I won't buy it. I'd rather have a new Super Smash Bros. game over a port.

    It's easy for the devs to port over all the stages and modes from both versions of the games and add the ice climbers, they were pretty much finished but they wouldn't work with 4 player on the 3ds due to hardware limitations; but the Switch can handle it.
