Um, anyone know how to get past this? I assume I need the Fire Rod for this, but both the Fire Rod's on the map are locked behind these panels, and I didn't see any others. So, any ideas?

    Yes, those levels need a Fire Rod. You aren't going to get one for a bit, so work around them and look for other fissure portals. In particular, there's a map that needs an Ice Rod but also has a fissure on it, so try activating that ine when you find it.
