To everyone asking for CD and the adventure series...

Seriously, stop. it wouldnt work for the 3ds. and i can explain why if you just actually READ this post. i don't think a lot of you kids and teens understand how emulation works. a separate program must internally be produced for a cd style game in order to work digitally.

  • the new 3ds barely is able to handle snes emulation and games, and those were cartridge media. imagine how much more work is needed to work cd media with the cd compiled of 355mb instead of a little cartridge that is only at the very most 4mb? and 4mb for a cart is being SUPER generous.

  • It requires more work to put out more power for them to make a digital version of a cd released game, therefore it's not going to go well unless they have the time to properly play test it in a digital setting.

  • Now, if they made it into a physical form of media, then they could do this easily. But for them to create a physical media that they would sell for 10 dollars or less would cost a lot of money for the company and there is not enough demand for one game to create a physical media.

  • Also keep in mind, Sonic cd on the ps3 runs at 355mb. The majority of these virtual console games you all buy now are only like...10-15mb and that's because of the 3d filter.

  • The 3ds full releases run around 1.5 to 2gb of data per game on a large release.Sonic Adventure 1 with the Deluxe upgrade runs at 1.7gb and SA2 with the Battle upgrade runs just over 3.1gb.

  • The only way you would fit all 3 releases onto one system would be to have at minimum a 8gb memory card and even then that's about 5gb of space on a 8gb card. do you really want your games to take up that much space on your memory card?

    Yeahs2
  • If they did physical releases, they MIGHT just barely fit Sonic Adventure 1, but I really doubt they could even put Sonic Adventure 2 on a handheld. They might BARELY fit a Sonic CD in 3d at around 400mb but don't hold your breath.

  • I just greatly hope Nintendo doesn't find this post breaking rules or anything. Everyone here keeps asking for cd and sonic adventure, but I'm just telling you all the 3ds wouldn't be able to handle it. THIS is why you likely won't get them on your systems. You could put these on the wii U super easy, but don't count on it on a 3ds.

  • Sorry to be off topic, but would Sega and M2 be able to make Streets of Rage 3 3D? I heard they had lots of trouble with SoR 2,but some how pulled it off!

  • how did they pulled it off?

  • @Lonewolf they pulled off 1 and 2, so 3 would be pretty easy. idk if its popular enough, but we can hope.

  • Honestly, I'd take Sonic CD without the 3D anyway, it's not like every game needs to have 3D (in my opinion) and, I believe Christian Whitehead (you know, the guy behind the mobile and I assume every other modern port of Sonic CD) even showed off CD running on a n3DS before, (unless it was just a special stage, I only vaguely remember a pic of a n3DS with a Sonic CD special stage on the screen).

  • But I don't really know tech stuff anyway, so, idk if that proves anything. :/

  • I actually don't want it on the 3ds, I want it on the wiiu. Or i guess the switch now sice the wiiu isn't getting any more games, or at least not any sega/nintendo games.
