Pro Tips?

Any Pro Tips out there for a player looking to get his feet wet with the game's superbosses? I barely understand what Skill Links are and could use a deeper understanding of how exactly Chain Attacks work and how they're as beneficial as people state them to be.

  • Well Skill links can be done between Characters after each skill is unlocked. The high the affinity between party members the more links you can have. By linking skills you can share what they do across party members. Note it will require affinity coins but they can be gotten back by dequiping skills. Chuggaaconroy's lets play has a video that gives you tips on fighting the superbosses. Good Luck.

  • Monado Armour is also very useful especially once you've levelled it up a lot. Have you got it yet?

  • Actually I haven't. That's one of the things I love about Xenoblade, honestly. I can still play it today and discover things about the game I didn't even know existed to add a new layer of excitement. Is Monado Armor possible to obtain if I have beat the game?

  • Yeah it's a sidequest just outside the Hidden Village on the Fallen Arm. Speak to a guy just outside the entrance and do both quests and you can get it.

  • When you use a chain attack, then if used well (such as same colour arts) you will have multiple chains which mean landing lots of hits in the frozen time (meaning you don't get attacked). It's a useful health drainer for bosses and can help land stuff like break, topple, daze, sleep, etc. It's really useful if used correctly, but it does still have chance and affinity circles to worry about.

  • Avalanche Abaasy is not immune to ailments and is easy to topple in Chain Attacks. All of my damage against him came from a custom weapon for Riki. His best weapon has 3 open gem slots which I filled with HyperLv6 Gems you can only get by crafting, doubling Poison, Freeze and Burn damage.

  • Chain attacks also multiply damage by the amount of same colored arts used in a row. Talent arts are wild cards and can be used to transition to another color while keeping your color chain.
