New game! I've really enjoyed this generation of the Mario Party series, despite mainstream controversy. Pre-ordered Star Rush. Excited to give it a try!

I can't wait to try the new paper mario series. I played the one on the Wii and really enjoyed that.

Do you mean Color Splash? Color Splash is fantastic! My favorite console game this year. If you go through my post history you'll see me gushing about it quite a lot xD

Ooh, I haven't bought that one yet, since I mostly play Mario Party in couch multiplayer. I've heard Star Rush plays quite differently - is it fun so far, if I may ask? I've really liked MP 9 and 10, despite growing up with the N64 titles. It's a fresh spin on board game mechanics and I like how people aren't pitted against each other as much. At least it feels that way to me when playing.

I played two rounds this weekend and it was fun and fresh! I was frustrated a bit with the CPU, but it's probably my lack of experience with the new format vs. actual game mechanics. You get ally's in this game, and the CPU rushed to steal all of them in one swoop D:. If you get enough ally's the game is yours! Star Rush is definitely a new and fresh idea from Nintendo.

Did you know you can couch co-op the 3DS Mario Party games with just one copy? It's great! Those that don't have the cartridge still enjoy the full experience with no exceptions, it's fantastic! Nintendo did a great job there. I'm not sure it is as appreciated as it should be. I play as much MP on the 3DS as I do on the consoles. I've really enjoyed 9 and 10 as well.

Okay? The concept sounds a bit unusual to me, to be honest XD I think I have to watch some gameplay videos first, when I have the time. The download play function sounds nice. Now I only need friends, who have a 3DS and live somewhat close to me >:

LOL! I know that feeling. For a long time it was the same way for me. I'm really lucky now. I have two co-workers that are also friends that have a 3DS and similar interests. Neither of them had any Nintendo stuff before they met me. I slowly brought them over to the dark side xD

Lucky you! ^^ all of my friends do like gaming, but they don't have their own consoles (apart from one, who isn't into handhelds...) One of them recently got a 3DS, too, but I'm living too far away, from all of them, in fact. At least I can still drag the rest into the beautiful abyss that is Nintendo gaming, whenever they visit me *evil cackling* the feels train lost its brakes since Super PM

LOL! Expose them and let the disease of Nintendo spread! That's what has worked for me. "Why don't you come over. We'll play Mario Kart. What? You didn't know it has HD graphics now? Well, do come in..." On lunch hour at work I'm playing DS facing away from everyone so they can see. "Oh, what is this, what game are you playing?" xD

I recently got this game and so far I enjoy it more than Island Tour. I was pretty disappointed with that game. ^^; It's not a bad game but I have enjoyed the other Mario Parties more. (Yes I am an old school fan thats been playing them since the N64 days.) Anyways, since you have had the game longer, are there any modes you recommend that I'll enjoy more than others? :) I really like Coinathalon!

Hi Bowsergirl! Hopefully my friend Chris here in the thread will chime in with some suggestions. I have played Star Rush almost exclusively in the traditional/regular mode. I've unlocked all of the other modes, but I haven't tried them yet. All of my friends on the Miiverse are further along than I am xD Chris has pretty well conquered this game, so hopefully he will share his experience ^^

Oh thats quite alright. x3 I really just wanted to talk to you. You know hold a conversation because I enjoy speaking and gaming with you. :D You're very nice! ^_^ Well since you haven't played much of Coinathalon, I highly suggest you should. It's a lot more fun than it looks on the surface. And the best part is most of the minigames in the mode are pretty solid!

Aw, thank you Bowergirl! That's really kind of you. You are making me blush over here ^_^. I've really enjoyed the times that we've gamed together too. You are an incredibly talented gamer (ESPECIALLY at Mario Kart!). More importantly, you are humble about it. I will check out Coinathalon for sure. Chris has been singing it's praises as well! It must be good if I'm hearing this much about it xD

Tee hee! :3 It's no problem really! ^_^ Aww thanks a lot pal! xD I try my best! I can get pretty competitive when it comes to Mario Kart, but I am always a good sport when people are towards me because I feel like they deserve it. :D But yeah, it's a blast playing with you dude! I always have a ton a fun with ya! C: Oh if other people are saying Coinathalon is good, I think you'll enjoy it too!

Apparently my input's not needed, but here goes anyway :X Coinathlon's the best mode imho, especially if you're all about playing mini games. Rhythm Recital gets surprisingly tricky later on (kudos if you can get an S rank with percussion instruments) and the best choice for killing some quick time is Mario Shuffle. That one doesn't use any mini games at all, though.

If you're playing Star Rush for mini games only, you'll have to stick to Coinathlon, Toad Scramble and Balloon Bash. But that's not exactly news, is it ^^'
