Ummm....a little help?!

Ummmm.....this might sound kinda dumb...but i just got the game and im wondering if its possible to make a outline?? Cause in pokemon art academy (PAA) you were able to use a outline pen and eraser and create a outline and then switch to a marker and color inside the outline, and if you got the marker outside the outline pen it was still visible. • But on this game if you create a outline and try to color it with a marker, and go outside the outline pen the marker overlaps the outline pen. and its annoying!

  • Try using one of the top layers, then to colour, use a layer below the one you drew the outline on. I tend to use the top layer to outline, middle to shade, and then the bottom layer to colour. Or, the top layer to outline and shade, middle to colour, and bottom for backgrounds. Hope this helped. :)

  • Ah, I see. Well then, that's how you use them. You see, the outline pen from PAA worked exactly like this, only it was specifically set to be the top layer. In this game, you can use any tool on any layer, and multiple on the same, rather than only being able to use the outline pen on the top layer like in PAA. I hope that makes sense. :P

  • so, the top layer has the outline?

  • If you're going to do an outlined drawing, then I, personally, suggest you put it on the top or middle layer, yes, and then the colouring should be put on a layer below whichever one you outlined on. Basically put. For example (See screenshot), I put the outline and shading on the top layer, then I coloured on the middle layer, and added background effects on the bottom layer. Hope this helps. :D

  • You're welcome. I'm so glad. :D If you ever need anymore help, I'd be glad to lend a hand (Though, to be quite honest, I'm still just getting used this game myself. xD).

  • The lessons give you a walkthrough of how to use all of the in game drawing applications, they just aren't very good for learning how to draw.
