    Ditto can have an egg with almost any pokemon no matter the gender. Ditto can't have eggs with legendaries and a few others i think.

    You can tell how long it will take for there to be an egg based on what the helper outside says. If "they get along well" you should get an egg soon "they don't get along much" It may be awhile "they prefer to play with others rather than each other" an egg won't appear. Though I think the sayings changed the general idea is the same.
