Red is still someone else, in GSC he had an Espeon, whereas Ash never even had an Eevee. Red also became a League champion, while Ash STILL hasn't won a single real League yet. I could keep going, but I'm out of posts. Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!

It's not all bad. He was tough for me too but I somehow still beat him. I almost lost to Blue when I first went to the Battle Tree but luckily my Espeon managed to take down his last pokémon and Espeon was my last one too.
