Wishiwashi's stats when it can use Schooling are much higher than Golisopod's..but Goliosopod overall is just a monster. They both have...kind of annoying abilities..I guess it's just down to preference. Do you want a pure Water type, or a Bug/Water type?

Go for golisopod. Wishiwashi is extremely slow in schooling form, you'd likely never land a hit first.

I'm not sure if you're asking this for competitive battles or for the story, but I use both of them on my main team, and Wishiwashi helps me a lot more, he takes hits and delivers powerful attacks that are almost always 1 or 2 hits to kill any Pokemon. For some reason it's easy for me to finish opponent Wishiwashi's with my team(which are just about 5-10 lvs higher than opponent Pokemon),-

-but then it's hard to take out my Wishiwashi. Golisopod is really good too, but I hate his ability more than Wishiwashi's(even though Wishiwashi's ability is worse when it comes to the downside), I try to lv him up higher but he gets switched out for anither of my Pokemon. Also, I hate when he runs away automatically from a Pokemon I'm trying to catch. They're both great in my opinion.

i worried that ill find a shiny and golisapod would runaway, and i caught a modest wishiwashi so i used her in sted.

There are other Pokemon you should be using for catching shinies, definitely not Golisopod. Golisopod is best used for battling, especially trainer battles, since you don't flee and instead switch out for another Pokemon.
