glitch?

so the other day i was hunting clefairy(took 5 days to find) and i found what seems to be a glitch: i'd use araquanid's/toxapex's scald and cleffa's hp drops to red,every now and then they get burned,now here's where the glitch comes up... they stop calling for help even with adrenaline orb and the game seems to forget the burn(no burn damage gets taken)

    this went on for many turns and happened so many time i just wanted to throw my 3ds at the wall....it was so frustrating cleffas wouldnt call for help ever while they where burned and where taking no damage whatsoever from the burn

    When a pokemon is afflicted with a status condition, it will stop calling for help. This makes it much easier to catch a pokemon when using the adrenaline orb to chain. And Clefairy can have the ability Magic Guard, which negates all indirect damage. So stuff like leech seed, toxic, burn, sandstorm, stealth rocks, etc will not damage it. Only a direct attack can damage a magic guard pokemon.

    it was cleffa that took no damage from the burns so they have magic bounce too?

    Yeah, Cleffa can have either Cute Charm or Magic Guard as the ability or Friend Guard as the Hidden Ability

    huh neat thanks bro...always thought magic bounce reflected (like synchronise but the magi-bouncer doesnt get afflicted) status ailments back and debuffs

    Yeah, that's Magic Bounce. Magic Guard is a different ability

    see im more into fire/grass/ghost/ground/ice/flying/dragon types (i have 7 teams in oras each revolves around one of those types) and i aint never seen that ability before

    Yeah, it's a pretty rare ability. Only the Clefairy line, the Abra line, the Solosis line, and Sigilyph get it. Makes sense, because it is such a good ability.
