    Evolution doesn't have holes in how it functions, and even tons of life goes extinct, it opens up countless opportunities for other lifeforms, like when the dinosaurs where wiped out it made a huge opening for mammals, birds, reptiles, and other life forms to spread out and evolve into new species.

    Dinosaurs where wiped out by an asteroid impact 65 million years ago, at that time early mammals and birds already existed but their small size allowed them to adapt and survive so they could diversify and take the place of the dinosaurs.
