    Missing the pokemon means that your current chance of catching the pokemon is extremely low. It's basically the same thing as a pokemon immediately breaking out of the pokeball without it shaking in later games. Make sure you lower its HP as much as possible and try to inflict a status condition on it, like Sleep or Paralysis.
