Haven't faced a centaur yet in this game, but man, they used to scare the heck out of me in the original Zelda. Looks like things haven't really changed.

If you decide to go into hyrule castle the most direct way you will find two more powerful variants standing in your way. The only good thing is you don't actually have to fight them if you have the right equipment and a lot of stamina for climbing. Also their official in game name is lynel. But, yes, they are near impossible to fight.

That there is a Blue-Maned Lynel. You probably should've started with the standard Lynel first, as it's the least powerful of all the Lynel variants. However, even the weakest Lynel can be dangerous without the right tools, so you should probably pick up stronger weapons and armor first. Daruk's Protection can also be a handy power to have.

Just stumbled across my first blue Lionel last night. This was after about 2 hours of aimlessly wandering around, completely lost. My skeleton arm weapon was no match for it. I'm scared.
