Wasting Time

I'm really good at not doing things I'm supposed to do. I'm supposed to read a book for English class, but I'm not. I'm supposed to do any and all homework when I get home, but I don't. Instead, I play BotW, and even then I'm not doing what I "should be" doing. I'm out in the middle of nowhere rn, just wandering around. I even played BotW instead of sleeping last night.

  • I mean I went to sleep an hour later than I usually do, but I have a very specific schedule. If I don't go to bed around 11, I don't hear my alarm going off at 4:30. Anyway... I've been wasting time a lot lately. It's partially because of BotW but I feel like maybe there's something more to that. Like... Am I getting lazier?

  • Not sure if it's just around where I live, but people at my school are really lazy. Or at least, us Seniors are..? Idk it just feels like teenagers in general are getting lazier in this generation. maybe I should rewatch Wall-E

  • don't freak out over it mate. Same goes for me, and many other of us AkwardIRL introverts on the internet. You are not alone, and you never will be. I'm supposed to do my Norwegian homework now, but I'm using my pc to type this instead. And when I am done typing, I'm going to a part of the internet that I can't talk about here.

  • Hmm, so it's not just me with the BotW curse. Ever since BotW released I've been pulling all nighters, not falling asleep til like 6am, and waking up at 3pm. So no, I don't think its laziness, it's just getting all the pent up Zelda hype out of your system.

  • dont worry, senior laziness is VERY common, when your close to graduating, just don't let it get the better of your work and you'll be fine ; )

  • It seems like laziness hits adolescents really hard. I was around your age myself (well, probably even younger) when laziness took control over my life, and now at the age of 25½, I'm still trying to get myself back on track (and haven't had much success on that). These past two weeks, however, have actually been the most productive I've been in a long time due to BotW's release; I knew that I'd»

It's working pretty well so far, since now I'm motivated to get started on things so that I'll have more playtime afterward. Perhaps it would be helpful to try it yourself and get your motivation back.

  • @SilentN Huh, that sounds like a great plan! Idk if I'd be able to restrain myself from playing the game first, because that's become my pattern, play first then work, but I hope I can try it out!

  • If it's too hard to restrain yourself, try asking your parents to withhold your Wii U or Nintendo Switch from you and not let you have it until you've fulfilled your daily duties. I'm sure that would help! XD
