StreetPass Mii Plaza

I just got a streetpass from an actual person and I didn't even go outside at all today with my 3DS. I left my 3DS on my couch in my living room and a few minutes later the light flashed green and I got a streetpass. Has this happened to anyone at all? Please tell me!
