    If you take them to the Spyke guy in the back alley, you can either add a single slot to a piece of gear that does not have three slots (three slots is the max you can have on any gear) or you can reroll the abilities on a piece of gear when all three slots are full. Either action costs one snail each time. When you do not have anymore snails, either action will cost 30,000 coins. Hope this helps.

    Those are called Super Sea Snails. If you go to the right-hand side of the plaza there's a sea urchin named Spyke. If you talk to Spyke he'll let you upgrade your gear by adding slots or re- rolling abilities with the Super Sea Snails. A while back we used to have things called Splatfests where you would win them if your team won. But now you earn them by winning Ranked or Turfwars 30 times. :3
