    Press the a, b, x, and y buttons all at the same time and hold until it asks you if youmwant to delete the data.

    okay i tried to on my 3ds but it seems to not be working. it says to do it on the home screen but it is not working for me. I had done it on my friends game a few months ago but he has the japanese version which is a bit different. if you go through the updates at the title screen I think it is 1.2.0 that tells you how to delete your data. Sorry about this.
