That took way longer than it should've, though it was definitely still a fun fight! I was probably really underlevelled and didn't collect every djinni, really pleased i managed to beat it first try, even if it took ages.

I can honestly say at this point Golden Sun is one of my favourite series. I'm looking so forward to starting Dark Dawn, though i want to get all of the games i've started but not finished out of the way before starting anything else

Well i looked it up and it says Doom Dragon is level 48. My party was level 38. I'm proud of myself now.

Unfortunately, that wasn't a reference. Dark Dawn takes place 30 years after Lost Age, but it follows a new story that has very little to do with the events of the first two games. Biggest bummer of Dark Dawn is the ending, which is a shame as it's my favorite entry in the series.

This will be interesting; i've heard a lot of people say that they prefer the GBA games and i've seen some people deny Dark Dawn's existence entirely. Now i'm looking really forward to playing. I'm surprised that the story is separate. TLA pretty much set the series up for countless sequels, albeit the predictable stories they would have.

Isaac, Garet, as well as a few characters from the first two games are present. The main character, Matthew, is Isaac's son after all. But the story, at this point in time, doesn't really have any connection to the previous games. I say that, because it ends before any connection can be established. Also, main reason it's my favorite is because of improvements to game mechanics.

In previous games, when a character's target is defeated before they act, they immediately swap to defending. In Dark Dawn, they instead swap targets, allowing them to take their turns without unnecessarily extending the battle. I also like how weapons can be mastered to learn additional special attacks while equipped. Dark Dawn's not perfect and there are things the first two do better.

The first two games are better balanced. Dark Dawn makes you too powerful too quickly thanks to giving you so many Djinn so early. If you're diligent in searching, you'll have enough Djinn to summon all Level 4 Summons. The story is also muddled with a lot of backtracking, especialky the second quarter. Lastly, I recommend a guide, because a number of Djinn and Summons are missable.

I'm definitely one of those people who prefer the GBA Golden Sun games, with Lost Age being my all-time favourite game, but I wouldn't go so far as to deny all existence of Dark Dawn; that's the first I've heard of that. I believe it's good in its own right. In my opinion (just an opinion, mind you), the previous GBA games set the bar high. Any news of a sequel to Dark Dawn?

No news other than we haven't heard from Camelot since the release of Mario Tennis Ultra Smash. They said around that time that they'd make another Golden Sun if the demand was high so fans set up a petition for another Golden Sun game, though it didn't get too many signatures. They seem quite open to it. I'm sure we'll get another game eventually.

Interesting. ... I would have trouble signing that petition. I'm not sure why. Thank you for your informative comment. :]

I love all 3 GS games, but what I don't like about DD is, that it feels just like some prequel or side-story to a story/game which never happened. I would love to see fourth game, but hoping to see such thing is kind of naive IMHO. If you look at what Camelot made last 20 years, it's GS and Mario golfs and tennises. I don't believe Nintendo will let them make any RPG anytime soon. Regrettably...

Btw. about OP's DD reference - I believe the Wise one is talking about Alex climbing Mt. Aleph at that time, not about future in DD. IMHO.
