Wow! You are just blazing through the Paper Mario series! You'll have to give me your recommendations after you play all of them.

  • And is that really the sort of thing you should be boasting about on Miiverse?

  • LOL! I knew I shouldn't post it but I just couldn't help myself. Sometimes, late at night, my brain goes silly with exhaustion and anything is possible xD

  • @Lee Thanks! I've been digging Mario in all of his forms, but particularly Mario games with a tangible story, for the last year or so. M&L Dream Team kicked it off. Then Color Splash amplified it. Paper Jam was a wonderful little treat. Sticker Star has been wonderful so far. Like a continuation of my Color Splash experience, for which I am very grateful.

  • I must say, regarding Sticker Star, that I truly regret listening to those that said Sticker Star was a bad game and that I should avoid it. I was hearing that outside of the Miiverse, and as a result I avoided it for a long time. While I understand why those people were upset, it has been a great game! The writing and the flow have been wonderful. I wish I had started it sooner!

  • I have Sticker Star and still play it. I haven't finished it yet; I got it about a year ago. And I've NEVER given in to negative opinions about games. Ever! Nobody should! These are really fun games.

I find video game reviews to be one of the least trustworthy type of review. Unlike most other types of media that attract reviewers, video games are interactive - so the experience is just as dependent on the player as it is on the game design. It's unfortunate that a lot of people end up forming their opinion of a game based off of the first review that comes up in a Google search.

Well said! I used to get Game Informer but I stopped picking it up a long time ago for the very same reason. They would hate a game, I would try it, and love it. They would rate a game highly, I would pick it up, and it didn't really grab me (and I was out $60). I've had really good luck listening to people I know (like here on the Miiverse) with similar tastes. That helps!

Exactly my experience! Star Fox Zero really stands out in my mind. Many of the aspects that attracted me to the game and made me love the game were almost universally panned by critics. Miiverse was one of the few places I could turn to for like-minded people. ...So now I want to play Sticker Star (but I really shouldn't).
