Red Riding Hood

+ The lovely descriptions of nature, and Maisie. - The fact that the story doesn't make sense - Maisie's choice of whether to race the wolf or not determines whether granny is ill (in bed) or not (visiting her ill neighbour). Am I missing something about the different amounts of time it takes her to get to Granny's cottage? I'll read it again... And I do wish I had a grandchild to read it with!

  • @Wuppers Hello, thank you for feedback. Regardless of the choice Maisie arrives at her Grandmother's house late. If she decides to follow her mother's advice, she uses time by looking at flowers. If she follows the wolf's advice, she will take a longer path to her Grandmother's house. I hope my response was helpful :).

  • Thanks for replying! My point was that Maise's deciding whether or not to take up the Wolf's suggestion appears to determine whether Granny was in bed or visiting a neighbour. The explanation must be that because she took her usual route and lingered along the way the Wolf was therefore obliged to go the longer route, Grannie therefore had time to get up and out of the house before he arrived.

  • Was Grannie ill then? Well, I guess not, otherwise she would not have visited the ill neighbour. When the Wolf gets to her earlier she must have been having a lie-in! If this is how it was, then I'm thinking that things could have been explained more clearly in the story. Anyway, thanks again for a charming visual story!

  • And quite near my Wii U lies a book -The Complete Illustrated Stories of the Brothers Grimm, first published in1853! On page 107, somewhere between Hansel and Grethel and Cinderella, I see the tale Little Red-Cap! Now we must wonder, did the Brothers Grimm invent the story... or did it already exist, and they, back in their own day, make a version of a yet more ancient tale, just like this one is!

  • Hello Wuppers, Our version of Red Riding Hood is based on two of the original stories before the Brothers Grimm version :). Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed our Visual Novel :D.

  • Two of the original stories, eh. I shall be reading my book through, it is full of many interesting tales, and I wonder if I shall find the other one. Thank you for responding, and I may perhaps ask - has The Stone Cutter been removed from sale in the eShop? I could not find it by using the search. I only found, via your profile, the community page. I think I shall soon buy Alice.

  • I wondered at the small size of the writing, but realized that it is not intended to be read by a young child (silly me!). Instead the child would listen to the narrator or to their parent reading the words. So it makes sense to keep the words small, and the pictures nice and big.

  • @Wuppers The Stonecutter and Red Riding Hood are not on sale. But can be purchased by doing a standard search in Nintendo's eShop. I believe you can also purchase the software via Nintendo's online eShop now: https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/IQ-2FxPo_jwcHXvlLt1CdPjtWH3T3q_7 In our testing, 3 year olds+ were able to read the text. The text size will also vary depending on the size of your display. Thank you :).

  • Thanks for info. I did try to search for Stone Cutter in the eShop but drew a blank. Not to worry. Have been reading some less well-known Brother Grimm stories and imagining what they would look like as a Visual Novel! Anyway, thanks again, and I'm looking forward now to getting Alice.

  • @Wuppers You'e very welcome! Try typing in "The Stonecutter" and not Stone Cutter. We hope you enjoy Alice and are able to locate The Stonecutter :).

  • Tried - nope. Tried every combination I could think of. There is no link to the game in eShop on the community page, as there is for most, if not all, other games. Unfortunately the 'search by alphabet' only goes up to the twentieth page, which is games beginning with 'r'. Someone needs to tell the eShop people that they need more than 20 pages in their search engine.

  • @Wuppers Thank you, The Stonecutter is currently not available to the UK and other European countries. We were waiting to hear more news about Nintendo's Switch eShop support. However, Alice in Wonderland is available worldwide :).

  • @GirlyGamer To answer your questions: 1) We're fine, how are you? :) 2) Years ago 3) Feels about the same hehe 4) No, we are not admins. 5) I do not understand, can you please rephrase? 6) We're always up for new friends. Since we're in a research & development period we rarely have time to see friend requests that are sent. We will revisit the friend section of the Wii U as soon as possible. Thank you for asking :)
