after you beat the game, when you start the game up, you get treated to a beautiful cut scene. also if you play new game+, then you get to start from the beginning with the levels & items you had plus the option to only face the bosses, no other enemies

    I don't think it matters if you've beaten it or not. A software update added the intro later. I had the game before said update.
