    During the mission where you have to blow up the big gun ships and fight Star Wolf. If you are quick enough you beat Wolf before he can beat Peppy. This unlocks another route. I suggest you to do this on regular mode first so you can get the hang of it.

    Also during the first Mission step on this ground switch in Walker Mode. It opens a new path that takes you to a alternative boss battle.

    If you want to know another secret path here: On Titania (The Desert Mission where you use The Landmaster) there is a giant portal in the sky halfway though. Transform The Landmaster into it's flight mode when you see it and fly towards it. This will trigger a Cutscene that leads to a Super Cool Mission. So Cool explaining about it give all the fun away. You need to play it for yourself.
